The shrinkage of the unwashed stiff canvas can be drastic & unpredictable because the different parts like hemp webbing handles can shrink at a different rate. We do not chemically treat our fiber or fabric, so while this bag is somewhat water repellent, thanks to the natural oils in hemp fiber, this hemp gym spa bag will get wet if exposed to water.
